Where are you now? Where do you want to be by this time next year?
It is said that the gates of heaven are open during the month of Elul and they close at the end of Yom Kippur. Traditionally, the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah, Jews gather for a night of song and prayer, asking forgiveness in preparation for the new year.
Write a letter (or two or three) to God, your future self, your Inner Wisdom, your Higher Self, the Universe. Maybe you need to apologize, receive an apology, release something. What do you yearn for?
Pour out your heart as we sing, chant, write.
Rosh Hashanah Day 1 Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026
Join me, Rabbi Juliet, first, in my living room and at my table, for a morning of singing and praying, contemplation and sharing, an afternoon of feasting, and finally, of “casting off” at the Harlem Meer in Central Park.
